Your gift will help save the Sumatran elephant

The Wildlife Ambulance is one of the few teams providing urgent medical assistance to injured and displaced elephants in Sumatra. With fundraising down this year, they’re facing a shortfall - and we urgently need to raise $50,000 by the end of the year to keep this team on the ground

Not only has their funding decreased since the Covid pandemic, but poaching has also increased, and more species than ever before are in need. With so few wildlife vets in Sumatra, these trained medical professionals are constantly in demand to provide life-saving medical care to species such as Critically Endangered Sumatran elephants, Sumatran tigers and sun bears.

Please help them continue their work!

Even before the COVID-19 crisis led to a spike in deforestation and poaching, the Wildlife Ambulance had their work cut out for them. Headed by our veterinarian, Dr Christopher Stremme, these medical professionals are some of the few wildlife vets in Sumatra.

Not only do they provide life-saving assistance to animals like this this bull elephant, they’re also training the next generation of wildlife vets. With less than 1,500 Sumatran elephants remaining in the wild, these precious sentient beings desperately need our help.

Please, will you give a special tax-deductible* gift today? Your donation will help fund the medical supplies, transport, training, and long-term care for individuals with severe injuries. You’ll also help the Wildlife Ambulance to conduct urgent rescue operations, translocating stranded and displaced species like this little sun bear. But without an urgent injection of funds, this life-saving work is at risk!
