New footage: elephant calves in the wild!

There's nothing quite like watching an elephant herd move freely through the forest. Unhurried, safe, and exactly where they belong.

Today, we're happy to share some amazing footage with you. Footage that you made possible!

Because your support is protecting elephants in more ways than you might realise. From keeping their rainforests standing, to stopping poachers, removing snares, and monitoring herds in their natural home – your kindness is at work every single day.

A male elephant, wild and free, in the forests of the Leuser Ecosystem in Sumatra. All thanks to you!

One of the most powerful ways your support is saving elephants, is by building the Elephant ID Database. A living record of every elephant roaming safe and free in the Leuser Ecosystem.

To build the database, our team patrols deep in the forest, monitoring elephants in real time. They place hidden trail cameras along elephant pathways, quietly capturing the lives of these gentle giants as they move through their days. Every photo and video recorded helps us grow the database, and our knowledge of how they live.

And he database just got a whole lot bigger!

In March, our team recorded 19 new individual elephants in the Damar Hitam area. They also captured footage of five elephant calves aged 1–2 years old, and one tiny baby, just 1–2 months old.

Take a look at this video, to see an elephant herd living wild and free, including a precious baby!

This is what your support looks like in real life.

These calves exist because elephants in the Leuser Ecosystem have the protection they need to grow their herds. Every elephant calf is one step further from Extinction for the species, and it’s all thanks to you!

Here’s another amazing video you won’t want to miss:

As more camera footage comes in, we'll keep updating the database. And we can't wait to share more glimpses of these little elephant calves with you.

Every photo captured, every elephant identified, and every calf born free is proof of what you're making possible. You're not just part of this journey – you are the reason it continues.

Thank you for standing with elephants!
