Wildfires are tearing through rainforests in Borneo and Sumata, fed by one of the driest seasons Indonesia has felt in years.
Scientists are calling it a Godzilla El Niño. The flames are spreading fast, and precious wildlife habitat is in their path.
When fires threatened the rainforests of Way Kambas National Park in Sumatra, it was your kindness that helped put out the flames.
Your support meant that our teams on the ground in Sumatra were ready and equipped to respond, to rush to the frontlines and help contain the blazes.
And because of you, they had the most powerful tool of all: the brand new fire truck that you helped build.
Just months after its completion, the fire truck was put to work, fighting the wildfires that were ravaging the rainforests of Way Kambas, and threatening countless elephants and other wild lives.

Your support in our recent fundraising campaign is the reason this truck exists. Because of you, the fire truck was stocked and ready, so our teams could act quickly and work closely with local fire-response crews to contain the fires, and prevent further spreading.
But unfortunately, the threat is not over yet. Thousands of fires still burn throughout Indonesia. While Way Kambas is safe for now, other parts of Sumatra are still burning.
Extreme drought and dry weather mean that fires can reignite at any moment, without warning. New hotspots can flare anywhere, anytime. Smoke and haze hang heavy over the country, a serious health risk to wildlife and humans alike.
Please know that your support is the reason our teams were able to fight these fires in Way Kambas, protecting one of the last remaining Sumatran elephant populations. Your support means our teams can always be ready to act, if and when the fires reignite.
